Film Poster Design: Behind Wallinz Publicity Campaigns

A film poster has to tell a whole story in a single frame. Here is how we approach publicity design for cinema.

A film poster has one job and one frame to do it in: make someone feel the story before they have seen a single scene. It sets the tone, signals the genre and gives audiences a reason to buy a ticket.

From script to street

Our process starts with the story — reading the script, talking with the director and finding the single image or idea that captures the film. From there we develop title typography, key art and a full campaign that works on posters, social media, OOH and billboards.

Work on the festival circuit

Wallinz publicity designs have travelled to IFFK, the Montreal World Film Festival, Istanbul and Manorama MAX, for films including The Great Indian Kitchen, Kunju Daivam, The Marooned, Eighteen Hours, Ambrosia and Kilometers & Kilometers.
